Creating templates in word can be exciting! You can create a document which looks great and is able to hold all the information you need. It is easy to make things look great in Word with its many formatting options, but this doesn’t always mean it will work well when you upload it to synergy. Here are a few tips and tricks on different word features and when to use them.
Headings:
Headings are a great way to make things stand out in word easily. However, be careful not to add too many things around them as sometimes they can disappear or format funny when you upload them into synergy.
If this happens just remove the heading and use the normal size, font and colour edits to create the title you need.
Table of Contents:
Table of contents is one thing that synergy does not recognise. There is no way to add a table of contents in your synergy template and will cause your template to have headings disappear and not format correctly.
Text boxes:
Text boxes are a great way to group bits of information that you want to put together on your document. They are also a great way to line up information and prevent it from moving or displacing on the document.
You can also make the text box have no fill and no outline for a seamless document.
Tables:
Tables are also a good way to align the information in a document that otherwise may be difficult to produce. You can place these tables in your document and also make the outlines of the table invisible.
Headers and Footers:
Headers and footers are a great way to set up basic details that you want to see repeated on your document pages. Its also a great way to separate things like logos and office details.
Logos:
When inserting a logo into your document it’s best to place it in the header so that the image doesn’t move. The best ways to make sure the image appears in the document is to ‘insert image’ or copy and paste the image from a different document.
