If the organisation has multi-office there are now, two possibilities:
Option 1: The organisation wants to sync all the folders in the same server.
Option 2: The organisation wants to sync the folders in different servers depending on which office the project was created.
For option 1: the organisation only needs to tick “This allows you to sync your project document folders...” checkbox.
For option 2: the organisation needs to tick the two checkboxes (“This allows you to sync your project document folders...” and “Enable synching different office…”). This last check will create a queue for each office with the projects in each queue.
To support sync Multi office in one server FileSync.exe has a parameter where you can write the name of the configuration.json. This will allow having more than one FileSync configuration in the same Server.
For example, the organisation has 3 offices and it wants office1 and office2 to sync in “Server A”, and office3 in “Server B”. So, the organisation needs to run the File Sync, 3 times with the different parameters.
Server A |
Server B |
FileSync.exe configuration.json |
FileSync.exe configuration2.json |
FileSync.exe configuration1.json |
|
After creating the two configuration files (one for each office) in your server you'll then need to go into Task Scheduler and create a task for FileSync.exe and add the name of the configuration file (e.g. configuration1.json) to the "Add arguments" box. After doing so you can redo the same steps for each configuration file.
Configuration Files:
Task Scheduler:
Notes:
- Each configuration of the json must be set to a different office.
- For Server A, this means it must have two tasks in Task Scheduler.
- You can customize the name of the configuration files (e.g. 'configurationsyd.json') just as long as you enter the exact same name in Task Scheduler.
