Add extra status options to control what type of items can be created for the contact record. Add a contact status by:
- Go to: Settings > Contact lists > Contact status.
- Click the Add button in the top right corner of the list.
- Type the 'name' to describe the status.
- Check the boxes for each item that will be allowed for use with this status option applied.
- Contact is active (shown in drop down lists)
- Default status for new records
- Active (contact status option can be used)
- Save and close.
- Repeat for each extra status option that is required.
