In the Project > Plan > Schedule page, you can adjust the start and/or end dates for any stage that is not marked as completed or unsuccessful in two ways.
- Drag either end of the row to the desired date.
- Click and move the entire row to a new date period.
When you adjust the dates for a stage in planning mode, Synergy’s elastic planning means:
- If affected, the project will adjust to reflect the new stage date.
- If affected, the parent phase will adjust to reflect the new stage date.
- All affected child tasks will adjust to reflect the new stage date.
When you adjust the dates for a stage in delivery mode, the elastic feature is disabled. This means:
- The parent project, and phase will adjust to reflect the new stage date.
- Any child tasks will not move.
The above rules also apply when stage dates are changed from the slide-in panel.
If you try to move or extend a project or phase and the stage is marked as completed, nothing happens to the stage. This applies in both delivery and planning mode.
The slide-in panel is also disabled on completed or unsuccessful tasks.
