Portal announcements allow you to broadcast information in the portal that the project team who have access to the portal view can view.
Why use portal announcements?
Portal announcements are a good way to keep the project team, who will most likely include your clients on project-related information, ie ‘Project on hold from 30/4 to 6/6. Andrew Taylor will email further information today”. Remember, it goes out to everyone so don’t post internal stuff like ‘Submit your expense before COB Friday”.
When an announcement is posted, external users (portal contacts) will not see the names of other external users.
Things you can do:
- Click the 'Post an announcement’ link.
- Type the text or note that you want to have visible to your internal and external project team. e.g. update on the project, or an explanation of the attached file.
- Upload an attachment add a file to the portal comment and it is shared with the portal contacts. Portal contacts are the staff or contacts setup on the project with 'portal access' granted. Click the 'upload a new file' button, then browse to the location of the file and click the open / upload button. The attached file can be downloaded by any of the portal contact when they open the comment.
Note: You can add a portal announcements from any of the menu options but the project team will only see the post from the feed or the announcement page
You can not delete or edit an announcement once posted.
